What Others Have to Say
Grace,
A heartfelt Thank You for a miracle! After four months of winter training, and only two weeks before the Boston Marathon, a pulled muscle in my back left me barely able to walk across the room, much less run 26 miles. Thoughts of running Boston again this year evaporated, and morose dejection set in. At the suggestion of my son, whom you had treated last year for a running injury, I made an appointment, thinking I had nothing to lose. On my intake form, I said I needed a miracle to put me back into the marathon.
You never promised a miracle, but your expert analysis quickly pinpointed my problem and your therapeutic treatment immediately began to relieve my pain. I respected your advice, knowing your background as an experienced marathoner and triathlete, when you reassured me that my months of training would not suddenly disappear if I followed your directions to rest and recover rather than attempting to continue to train.
When marathon day arrived, I was elated to find myself at the starting line, cautious but symptom-free. As the race progressed, my mindset switched from "Can I do this? Will my back hold up?" to "My back is not a factor; only the wind, the rain, and the hills will impact my time."
Miracles do happen. I finished in a very respectable time, the third best of my six runs in Boston, and never had the slightest twinge in my back.
Words can't express my gratitude for your effective treatment. I owe this year's Boston Marathon success completely to you.
Thanks so much.

When I found Dr. Grace through a running magazine, I had over 18 years of built up scar tissue from a very repetitive job as a Broadway Touring Hairdresser. I had been to three orthopedic surgeons and several physical therapists. After nixing anti-inflammatory drugs (which ate a hole in my stomach) and failed physical rehab attempts, I met Dr. Grace. Within two sessions with her, I was not only, completely relieved from my shoulder, hand and thumb numbness and shooting pains, but she had already diagnosed and applied treatment to several other areas that I was having weakness and chronic pain due to repetitive travel and work loads. I have been to several other ART doctors and never have I had the success and total relief that I received with Dr. Grace. I have found through my experience with ART there is a definite talent and special knowledge needed to be great at ART. Dr. Grace has this ability and more. I have since sent several of my colleagues (dancers, musicians, and fellow hairdressers) to be healed. In the future, I will be planning a trip to Boston just to see Dr. Grace; that is how strongly I feel about her ability and care.

I started seeing Grace after developing foot pain while training for my first Marathon. My custom-made orthotics from my podiatrist didn't help, and all my foot specialist could tell me was that my foot wasn't broken. After 5 or 6 visits with Grace I was back on the road, and I'm pleased to report that I successfully finished my first Marathon 2 weeks ago. It seems like nearly everybody in Boston running circles knows Grace and swears by her. You can add me to the list!

My experience at Soft Tissue Treatment exceeded all of my expectations. Not only did I feel as though I was getting the best treatment for my injuries but Dr. Grace Steinley was a pleasure to meet with. I can't remember the last time I went to a doctor who spent time to really understand how I was feeling (and who took patients on time).
I initially started coming to the office for hip and knee pain that progressively worsened as I increased my mileage in preparation for my first marathon. Subsequently, a couple of weeks into my treatments, I severely sprained a tendon in my ankle. After the treatments for my ankle, I noticed a drastic improvement in the level of swelling as soon as I left my appointments with Dr. Steinley. Prior to seeing Dr. Steinley, I use to get sharp pains that ran through my hip, and would bother me at times while I was sleeping or sitting for long periods of time. Due to my ankle, I was training off road for a month but when I got out for my first long training run, I ran 18 miles with no pain in my knees or hips and no swelling in my ankle. The next two weeks I tapered before the marathon, but I'm very happy to report I ran my first marathon in my goal time without any pain (except of course the beating my quads took)!
I don't think I could have a better report - the first half of marathon training was filled with aches and pains and the later was pain free - what more could you ask for!

I was diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome in both wrists and DeQuervain's Syndrome in my right thumb and wrist. Many everyday tasks were painful to perform and I woke up at night with my left arm numb and throbbing with pain.
With Active Release Techniques, I was soon sleeping well again, and 90% of my pain has been relieved. I no longer need the surgery that was prescribed for me - if I ever did need it! I do not believe that wrist surgery would have helped me because it turned out that most of my pain was due to scar tissue in my forearms and neck muscles, which Dr. Steinley has released.

For two years I suffered for post-surgery swelling and pain for a meniscus tear. I was not able to do the one thing I love and that is to run.
Dr. Grace Steinley was able to work on my knee with the Active Release Techniques to the point where I am back running 3-4 times a week with no swelling and minimal aches.
I am very fortunate to have discovered this practice and thankful for the treatment I have received.

Thank you, Dr. Grace. I am so appreciative of the work that you do. I was relatively new to ART when I began therapy with you. Since then I have been to several ART practitioners across the country. I have yet to find a doctor that is able to relieve and release pain as efficiently, or with such strength, gentleness, fluidity and...grace. More than simply being a doctor, I perceive you as having a tremendous gift. Thank you for sharing your skills. I would highly recommend you to anyone wanting to create positive change within the body. Again, thank you for being who you are and doing what you do. Be well.

I hurt my right knee in August, and it was just a nagging injury. It never got too bad, not would it go away. I missed three months of training with no improvement before coming to Dr. Steinley where I was cured in weeks. I noticed improvement after one week. Thanks!
