Dr. Kate S. Kelly

Dr. Kate S. Kelly, owner and chiropractic physician at ARB. She is a graduate of New York Chiropractic College and Clark University. Her philosophy for healing involves assessing the body as a whole for diagnosis and treatment. Her passion and determination center around resolving often complex problems at the source rather than simply treating the symptoms.

At Active Recovery Boston, Dr. Kelly employs state-of-the-art, gentle chiropractic care to people of all ages to eliminate neck, back and joint pain, and compromised range of motion. She is a full body certified Active Release Technique (A.R.T.) practitioner and was a member of the Active Release Technique team at the 2007 and 2008 Ironman Lake Placid. Dr. Kelly has also earned certification in Kinesio Taping, Dry Needling and Graston techniques.

Dr. Kelly has a strong belief in the benefits of chiropractic and soft tissue treatment for sports-specific performance enhancement and injury prevention. Having been in practice for more than 13 years, her goals and expectations include the following for patients:

  • creating maximum power output

  • maximizing athletic potential

  • minimizing injury potential

  • improving position sense and repositioning ability

  • developing proper movement and control

  • enhancing post-competition regeneration and restoration of joints and muscles.

Prior to chiropractic school, Dr. Kelly has served as Clark University’s strength and conditioning coach for eight years in the women’s field hockey and softball programs.  She has also conducted workshops and frequently lectures at universities, high schools, marathon teams, multinational corporations in the areas of: nutrition, injury prevention, regaining one’s competitive edge, managing physical and mental stress, posture and breathing technique for runners, and improving productivity through proper workplace ergonomics.

Dr. Kelly was a collegiate softball player. After college, she was a competitive triathlete and endurance junkie for 15 years, has had her fair share of bumps and bruises from Cyclocross and has been a member of several crossfit gyms. On her off time, when she is not seeking out another physical adventure, she loves to spend time with her family, her dog and her chickens.

Dr. David Tran

Dr. David Tran is a graduate of New York Chiropractic College. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Health Science at the University of Massachusetts in Boston and went on to work as a case manager at Bowdoin Street Health Center in Dorchester, creating programming for the health centers youth obesity program prior to going to chiropractic school.

Dr. Tran focuses on a full body approach to health care to allow for the body to reach its maximum potential. He utilizes his experience with orthopedic cases and athletics as well as incorporating nutrition with rehab and exercise into his treatment plans to help his patients achieve their health goals. 

Dr. Tran is a member of the American Chiropractic Association and is a certified chiropractic sports physician (CCSP). He has been certified in Motion Palpation, RockTape as well as an instrument assisted manual soft tissue technique known as ConnecTX. He is actively attending seminars and classes to continue his growth so that he can continue to deliver the best current treatment to date.

Dr. Tran played high school football and volleyball as well as D3 volleyball in college. After spending 15 years playing and coaching for the Boston Knights volleyball club, he now serves as the team doctor for the club. He continues to enjoy playing volleyball and golf whenever he can.
